Imran, took up diving after being pushed by very close friends. An advance open water / nitrox diver who joined the committee in the first year of his membership in the Sri Lanka Sub Aqua Club, Imran has served as the Events Officer for two consecutive years and now serves as President. His goal is to steer the Club to greater heights, and to popularize diving in Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan diving globally.
Onalie Dissanayake started her diving life to conquer her phobia of water thanks to supportive friends who encouraged her. Since then she has been diving and enjoying the beauty of the underwater world and her love for the ocean.
Apart from being a diver, she is a marketing & education professional and a mother of three.
Harshana is an avid diver who finds solace and serenity beneath the waves. With a deep love for the ocean, Harshana is constantly drawn to exploring its wonders, immersing themselves in the beauty and tranquility of underwater life.
Apart from being a passionate diver, he is a Finance and Marketing professional.
Sometimes life pushes you into the deep end—literally. Thanks to my friend Madhawa Dias (this year’s dive officer), I found myself unexpectedly plunged into the world of diving and surfing. What started as a friendly nudge turned into a lifelong passion for the ocean, its incredible marine life, and sharing this eye-opening experience with others.
Now, as a recreational diver, I’m all about exploring, protecting, and helping others discover the magic beneath the waves—just like I did, by pure chance!
Samangi, a dedicated zoologist with a deep-rooted passion for the marine environment, has been drawn to the ocean since childhood, leading her to become an open water diver. As an ardent researcher, she specializes in marine ecology, species diversity, and the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing for marine habitat mapping.
Her work extends beyond research, as she actively contributes to marine conservation efforts, striving to protect and preserve ocean ecosystems. She is currently working as the Marine Project Coordinator at the Wildlife and Nature Protection Society (WNPS).
Banura is a TEC diver with a deep fascination for shipwrecks, always eager to explore the hidden stories beneath the waves. For him, diving is more than just an adventure—it’s a journey into history, mystery, and the unknown.
Beyond the depths, Banura is the founder of WYLD Global, one of Sri Lanka’s well-recognized marketing agencies. His expertise in branding and communication brings a fresh perspective to the Sri Lanka Sub Aqua Club, helping to connect and grow the diving community.
Madhawa is an avid explorer of the deep. His love for diving and fascination with shipwrecks drive his passion for underwater adventures.
For Madhawa, diving isn’t just a hobby; it’s a way of life—a chance to escape the world above and find solace in the quiet depths.
In addition to his role at the Sub Aqua Club, Madhawa also runs his own diving operation, sharing his love for the ocean with others.
