Imran Yakoob

“Captivated by Documentaries on Nat Geo and Discovery at a formative age, I found life at the bottom of the Ocean fascinating and therapeutic”.

Imran, took up diving after being pushed by very close friends. An advance open water / nitrox diver who joined the committee in the first year of his membership in the Sri Lanka Sub Aqua Club, Imran has served as the Events Officer for two consecutive years and now serves as President. His goal is to steer the Club to greater heights, and to popularize diving in Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan diving globally.

Nipuna De Silva

Meet Nipuna De Silva, a seasoned professional in the world of commercial diving, where his career seamlessly intertwines with his deep-seated passion for exploration beneath the waves. With an insatiable curiosity for the underwater realm, Nipuna has delved to depths of up to 100m /400 feet, showcasing his expertise as a Trimix diver and a surface supplied diver. Moreover, he has dedicated himself to mastering the intricate skills required of a Hyperbaric chamber operator.
 
Beyond his aquatic pursuits, Nipuna is a spirited traveler, constantly seeking out new cultures and experiences to enrich his life. His adventurous spirit extends beyond the ocean depths, as he is also an avid motorhead, finding joy in the thrill of the open road.

Harshana Fonseka

Harshana is an avid diver who finds solace and serenity beneath the waves. With a deep love for the ocean, Harshana is constantly drawn to exploring its wonders, immersing themselves in the beauty and tranquility of underwater life.

Apart from being a passionate diver, he is a Finance and Marketing professional.

Randima Perera

Her journey with diving started during Covid days, when time was all anyone had. The process made her physically and mentally stronger.
In addition to the role she plays in the Club , She is also a mother and a full time HR professional.

Gillian Nair

Gillian’s love for the underwater world strengthened with a dive in 2021, and ever since, she’s been captivated by its beauty and grace. At SLSAC, we believe conservation shouldn’t be a chore, but a way of life.

Communications Officer

Niven Ganegama

Niven Ganegama is a student at The British School in Colombo. He currently serves as the Communication Officer and is the youngest member to sit in the SLSAC Executive Committee.

As a passionate ocean enthusiast, he spearheads the “Guardians of the Ocean” program, extending its reach to rural villages across Sri Lanka. He also serves as the Founder, Director of Youth Force Sri Lanka, Sarvodaya.

He completed his PADI Advanced Diver Certification in August 2023.

Madhawa Dias

Madhawa is an avid explorer of the deep. His love for diving and fascination with shipwrecks drive his passion for underwater adventures.

For Madhawa, diving isn’t just a hobby; it’s a way of life—a chance to escape the world above and find solace in the quiet depths.

In addition to his role at the Sub Aqua Club, Madhawa also runs his own diving operation, sharing his love for the ocean with others.
